Rugby World Cup Robbery

Last week a show came to our school. It was called the Rugby World Cup Robbery. There was a busdriver who drove a little bus, but the school girl drove the bus instead. The cup was stolen and she wanted to get it back for the All Blacks. It was funny when the rooster was poking out the back - he looked really stretched! We liked it when the girl got grumpy and said "poop". Mr McNaughten did the robot dance, he was funny.

The Great Robbery

Last week a show came to school. They were really good. And they were dresing up as a t.v and Richie McApple Core and pretending to be Mr McNaughten and rooster Napoleon. Then we saw a bus driver and the girl who was late for school. The show was really really cool. It was funny when the girl got stamped on by the Frech player's foot. She yelled and hopped around.

The carvings were interesting. The weavers and carvers were busy. We liked the big watch tower, but we couldn't go up it. We went in to the chief's hut, it was huge. It was much bigger than the other huts. We are hoping to go back to visit again.

We went into the whare nui for morning tea. It was a fun day.

Data Projector

Gavin and Ray made our day when they came in on the weekend and put up our new ceiling mounted data projector. Today we used it and it looked so cool, everyone loved it! It was so cool.

Red & Black for Christchurch

We had a red and black day to raise money for Christchurch.
Luke had an umbrella, a red hat and a red cape. He was our favourite character.
It was a fun day, and most of the school children joined in and wore red and black.
Even all the teachers dressed up!

Cross Country

It was a boiling hot day on Wednesday 3th of November 2010 when we had our cross country day.
There was yummy food, fizzy drinks, games, and sweat!
Just at the end off the 8 year old kids Finn and Lewis were fighting for seocnd place. Lewis, Finn, Lewis, Finn! Exciting!!!!
Lewis came second and Finn got tird.
It was an awesome day.

Problem Solving Challenge!
The Royal Society for the Protection of Birds has a problem. A female dotterel has been frightened away from her nest and left two eggs. The nearest incubator, to keep eggs alive, is two hours drive away along a bumpy windy track.

Your challenge:
Design and make a container to protect the eggs on their bumpy journey. Find a way to test your container, use hens eggs, before the precious dotterel eggs are put in it.

As you can see from the photos the children had a great time. Testing the containers was a series of thrills and spills. Not one egg was scrambled!

Finished Castles!!!!

Jo came in last week to help us design our castle windows and doors. Then we drew and painted them on. They look wonderful. I liked making the castle because it was fun!
